Jane had a tumble!!: Smash goes the laptop

Good evening good folk!

Happy New Year!!!! Oh ...wait..uhh...oh oh.....boom..oh..ouch!!!  Smashh!!! Zip zap...

That was that was the sound of new years day, all the kings horses and all the kings men could not put my little laptop back together again!!

And my hands...and my ankle...bruises.,,,,, old age..flabby buns..er wait..

I did not break any bones but it did..break.... my spirit a bit. I am now typing on a brand new... cheap...but new laptop so I expect to get back into the swing of things soon and maybe blab on about little do dads and such things.

Sorry if I've missed some of your blogs but I did try to use my hubby's computer a few times a week to keep up with things....when he was home,,, I got shooed away like a little technotroll< that's real isn't it?

I am going to do some write-ups about some of my mini friends this winter, I don't have much to talk about so I though I would blab on about what they are doing...

Any how, how have you been? What things are you working on now? What skills you working on?

I think we need a midwinter give away..that always helps recovery *wink*

  3. Hi Jane, I awfully glad to hear that you are still in one piece! Poor Dear..... and poor laptop.....
As for me, I had a POWER OUTAGE with my doll's house today, so I had to tear off some of the work that I had started on the 3rd exterior wall to track down and tackle the electrical short. Back in business again but now I am stuck with a different set of problems. BLAH!! .
    But still having fun

    1. Ironic as it is...dry as a bone. I cannot blame the tumble for spirits just on pure dumbassery ;( The laptop did not cushion my fall, I thought putting it between the tile and my body would help..but the things you learn ;P

  8. Oh no! That's terrible. I hope that you are on the mend and glad to hear that you got another laptop. We do not like silentfanaticus ;-) I do not have anything mini going on right now. I have been working on cross stitch projects for my charity group, but hope to be back to minis soon. Take care of yourself and Happy New Year, welcome back & all good things!

  10. Hi Jane,
I can so sympathize with your tumble. I am the kind of person who falls up stairs. Hope the new lap top serves you well.
Around here, I am thinking about a grand new house for Beckett and Maureen. They really must get out of that dinky flat. That is, of course, if she returns from the past like her husband and family hope. She surely must be confused to find herself in such a precarious situation.
    Happy New Year to you,
    Vicki

  16. Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog. I can't find your email address, and would li8ke to have emailed you to say thanks. I think we might be Birds of a Feather with our love of detail! We often go to Dolls' House shows, and I swoon over miniatures. There's just not enough hours in the day to do all I'd love to do!!
    Thanks Jane

  17. OMG - and I was expecting you to enjoy a little break during the holidays, enjoying life, yourself and working on miniatures... but instead of this you were busy with breaking something else! Without any joking this time - I'm shocked to hear this but at the same moment glad that you were not seriously hurt. Of course it's annoying that your laptop had to went to computer heaven and that you had to buy a new one (including all the work of installing it) - but better the laptop than you!!! So take my advice - better work on miniatures than tumbling around with a laptop in your hands... ;O)

  18. Oh Jane, not good. One of my dogs caught his foot on the cord of my laptop as he was running past recently and it crashed to the floor. Luckily it is still going as I would not be able to replace it and then I'd be really lost - no blogging or reading blogs - Arhhh!! I make sure if it is plugged in now it is away from where the dogs are likely to walk.

  19. Hi Jane, I'm so sorry! :-( How very frustrating! I'm glad you weren't seriously hurt. I hope you feel completely better soon, my friend. Of course, it's wonderful to hear from you, and anything you write about is awesome. I'd also love to hear about some of the gorgeous things in your Etsy shop too. Take care! xo Jennifer

  21. Dear Jane!
I am so sorry for what has happened! It is so annoying to loose "a friend" like that, but I guess the computers don't "live" for ever in any cases!

  23. It's a pity it has broken the screen of the laptop, but it's more important that you feel well and you would have taken it well. A big hug and lots of encouragement.
