Snow, Icefluberg and valentines fail: A tiny sneek of my Miniatures.com contest build

Hello fine folk of the frozen world!

I am sorry I did not come through on my goal of a Valentines swap but I have been battling the flu and early on I got my first ear and sinus infection since I was about 9 years old..ouch!!

So needless to say I did not want to send out beautiful looking valentines goodies laced with tiny nasty germs to dock with your face..like it did mine.

My ear had been muted for 4 days now...crapshit....That's right I said it!! ;)

We can try for a spring themed swap instead.

Speaking of spring!!...Did you hear? Its been snowing here on the east coast..and tonight we are going to get 8 inches..then another storm will follow it with about 5 inches...then apparently there might be a storm of all storms to end storms that will cover us in the range of 1-2 feet!

YAY!!!!!!!!!.......*wahhhhhh* Tears*

All this makes for a very:

If there is any of you other folk going through a stormy
season, keep safe, keep warm and seems like a great time to mini doesn't it?

Some info on my Miniatures 21st Annual Creatin' Contest:

It will be a fantasy themed house. I will be covering the entire house in a new purchased paper clay that I am now in absolute love with called Polyform Model Air.

As far as I have researched it will be the only dollhouse in its existence that has been built in this style..as far as I have seen...I think :)

So the first and truly one of a kind....I think...

And here is a shot of some of the stonework:

Hugs, sniffles and best wishes to you all! See you on the other side of the storm..sssssss

  10. Hi Jane, You've so been in my thoughts over the last week. So sorry your cold turned into an ear infection and sinus infection--geez, those are painful! I've been resting at home the last couple of days with a relapse of the flu I had over Christmas. I haven't touched the minis I'm making you for Valentine's Day since I got sick, because I don't want to pass any MORE germs your way. :-D I'll finish your minis when I'm over this bug, hopefully this weekend, then I'll send them out Monday.

*You all won't believe what Jane sent me--I'm over the moon with happiness and can't wait to show them next week.*

OK, back to you, Ms. Jane! I hope you feel better really, REALLY soon. I love your preview and look forward to seeing more. Stay warm and safe and dry during the next few storms, my friend! xo Jennifer

  11. Hi Sad Jane. That stonework teaser really has me intrigued. I can't wait to see the reveal. I hope you are on the improve now. I am suffering the opposite today, it is so hot and humid that even my clothes just feel uncomfortable on me. Still it is preferable to the weather you seem to be experiencing. Take care.

  12. Hello Ms J! I am over the moon with the glimpse of your Fantasicus Stonework Jane! I want to know more about the materials because the precision of the cuts look just like stacked stone! Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful! The carved overlaid pattern is very intriguing and so well done and now I just HAVE TO SEE MORE!!
But back to your health and welfare during this brutally cold weather that is occurring. Here on the southwest coast of Canada, the force of the bitter cold has me dressed to the max,... inside my house,.... even with the heat on! During the day,the skies are crystal blue with the sun shining so brightly that is blinding and I have even seen ROBINS!!!? ( so early!) The night sky is pitch black and the stars are Brilliant and sharp as tacks against the backdrop of the universe. It makes me sigh in wonder as I gaze upward into it...... BUT IT IS COLD. Colder than I can express and I don't stand outside for too long because then they would have to call me "ICE ICE BABY" and I would have to breakdance and I am way too old for that!
Take care of that flu Jane and here is something I recently learned; if your slather the soles of your feet in Vicks Vapour Rub and then wear heavy socks to bed, it works more effectively than if it were rubbed on your back and chest. I have tried this out and staved off the onset of a cold and got soft feet as a bonus! :D Try it you'll be glad you did! :D
    Get well soon Jane

    1. Helllo Elizabeth you fine lady! Your words are always poetic and smile worthy!

The house decorations are all paper clay, pressed lined and painted and there is color but I've been sneaky about that ;)

You and I share the same weather patterns the other day before snow I swear I hear spring birds singing even though it was bitter cold it makes me think nature knows the thaw will come soon or hopeful thinking...or wishing...or crying if its not true ;(

I will try the vicks feet! I have already put pepper in my boots for winter so I believe this method you say ;)

      Thank you much,
      Hugs,js
