Midsummer Dreaming: The Garden

Good morning good folk!

I was thinking on Midsummer lately, its a magical time. Flowers bloom, dragonflies dance and fairies come to visit your gardens. You have started your fairy gardens haven't you??

While I know a few of you fine gals are about to enter your winter seasons, I thought we could stroll down the summer path for a while with a little story *wink*

I see us sitting in a wonderful nook filled with speckled light. Nearby is the tinkling sound of a water fountain:

Can you hear the chirping of the little birds as they dance in the birdbath?

It would be so nice to sit here in this garden...er.....

CRAP I forgot the bench!!!

Ok lets pick this up next post...where are they gonna sit Jane?? Geesh..terrible at this. *wink*

  4. You have a wonderful imagination. Your fountain is the most spekutalære fountain I have ever seen. I can clearly see a common thread to some of your previous work. Very exciting Jane. I look forward to seeing more of this theme.

  23. Jane,
Your fountain water looks so clear and realistic. I tried making a fountain and the water looks like mucus. (trying to be nice lol) Please share what you used and maybe a little about your technique.
    Thanks!

    1. Greetings grandmommy!

I used 2 part resin for this set, there are lots of options though.

For the spout water I slow dripped a strand of hot glue into a cold glass of water so that it formed a base to drip pour the resin onto.

Of course resin would be the best bet.. but its tricky and expensive.

A good alternative would be to do a few coats to a piece of clear firm plastic with triple thick gloss glaze, this is a cheap alternative to using poured fillers.

I have not straight filled anything large with triple thick yet.. but it might be worth a shot to see if it fills in a shallow space ;P

Best of luck to you, let me know how it turns out!
