Good day good folk!
I want to thank you fine folks for messaging me and asking if I was alive.... I AM!! Just took a bit of a winter blues..depression about winter...non active.. break for a bit ;)
I am alive and although we apparently might get another dusting of snow..F**K.. I think nature is letting me know its over. The Canadian geese are returning and spring birds are starting to sing!
We had 2 birthdays here in March, my daughter who's birthday was the 5th. She turned 7 this year and is growing more beautiful and smart and wiseassery by the minuet!
I did make the little guy Olaf at the top, for my daughter since we now sing songs from Frozen ..allll...dayyyy...looongg:
I also had a birthday on the 7th I decided I would show you this picture of myself working at my desk, I think I look very lean and tone in this shot.
I decided to purchase the Greenleaf Lighthouse and create a Sorceress Tower out of it. I did not get very far but..the ideas are strong..so that's something ;)
Paper clay play..
and lastly I have been working a tiny.. tiny bit on my Miniatures.com build. I have all year for this one so I will probably work more on the tower since my heart is in it..but you know scatter brain Jane..so umm...SQUIRREL!
I hope all your mini adventures are going well, I am slowly thawing from your hugs ;)
I love that snowman!!! And, I'm just being a friend here, I think you need a sandwich...you're looking a little *too* thin. haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Yes, I just saw the news forecast of 8-10 inches of snow...bleh...I'm so done with it. I will have to try paper clay one of these days. :]
ReplyDeleteNo no no nonononoo...no snow..no...
DeleteThe real photo of me I quite a bit stockier as that is all I can do with this weather is cook elaborate foods and eat...them ;)
welcome back! we are getting more snow tomorrow but it's not bad maybe 1 -3 inches, I used to stay home on days like that but they laid off my relief so I'll be coming in that day (dirty rotten *&(^(&^)

I don't mind the dusting of snow as long as it is 50' the next day enough to melt!
Deletebe warm ;)
2 birthdays in March, congratulations to you both. 7 years is a wonderful and exciting age. Enjoy it, it goes so terribly strong, suddenly they just adults.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for spring to you.
Hugs
Wyrna
Thanks Wyrna! Yes its exciting and daunting at times but I do love changes each year ;)
DeleteHi Jane, It's so nice to hear from you! I was starting to get a little bit worried with no post from you in a long time. Happy belated birthday! Hope you had a good one despite the winter blues. The Sorceress Tower sounds like such a fun project! I know you're going to have a blast with that one. The snowman you made has such character! You are very talented and a very sweet friend to many. xo Jennifer
ReplyDeleteThanks for the always sweet and encouraging words hon ;)
DeleteIf the tower works out like in my head it should be a pretty impressive sight ;)
hugs, js
Happy (belated) Birthday!! I can completely understand that you weren't feeling very inspired these past few weeks. I hope spring will arrive at your door soon and so you can enjoy all the joys of spring :) We've been having unusually nice weather here lately, although it's been quite windy. But every morning when I wake up and open the windows I can hear birds singing and the past few days we've even had a few blooming flowers! Can't wait for full on spring!
ReplyDeleteWooow..... I can only imagine what you're going to do with that lighthouse! I'm sure it will be a wonderful dwelling for a sorceress. Then I think you'll have to make a sorceress too, heheh.
The sun has been out, which it kinda fooling because it was cold but the signs of spring are here!
DeleteOh I think we will enjoy the magical side of the tower :P and I have been thinking of making a doll for it...hmmmm
Happy birthday to you and your daughter.
ReplyDeleteThe snowman is fantastic and the new project, the Tower, is a great project. I'm curious to see more.
Thanks Faby ;)

I will take your offer for warm madam! Send it wrapped tightly in jar and when I open it I want it to steam my face! *lol*

Hi, Happy Birthday to you and your daughter! The snowman is great! I wish you warm weather from now on :-).
ReplyDeleteThank you ;) I will cross my fingers and hope for spring !
DeleteCiao Jane, mi fa piacere che il tempo stia migliorando. Auguri a te e a tua figlia, splendida torta! E l'inizio di un nuovo progetto fa sì che la tua depressione invernale stia passando.
ReplyDeleteUn abbraccio.Manu
Grazie Manu, spero verde continua a crescere!
DeleteOhh Miss Jane the start of your clay work has me all a giddy and wanting more!!!! I want to thank your for recommending that clay. I have to admit its really fun and gives a whole new look and dimension to a kit. Is that some GOLD color on your miniatures.com build-a-ma-bob? I'm working on mine too, I'm sure I will hit the creative wall and have to go work on the conservatory or the last shop or or or or or......Happy peaking out from warm blankets and wishes for thawing weather soon! Huggs
ReplyDeleteyes madam yes.....gooooooooooooooold!
DeleteFirst of all Olaf is gorgeous - isn't he a fun character. I did go to see Frozen with my daughter but I'm not that familiar with all the songs that I could sing them all day, but I recently found on You Tube the Piano Guys playing one of the songs from Frozen. I'm enjoying The Piano Guys and also The Two Cellos on You Tube at the moment. I totally understand about the winter blues but I'm glad you are getting out of them now. I think a lighthouse is perfect for a sourceress tower and look forward to seeing what you have in mind for it.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to you little ones!!! Ah the skeleton shot and your comment was hilarious! I love light house. A miniature one would be fabulous! I just watched Frozen. Can't say I am a super fan but I did like the movie a lot. Olaf is adorable and your snowman is well made. I knew it was Olaf the minute I saw your post pop up on my reading list!
ReplyDeletemuchas felicidades a tu hija por su cumpleaños , esa tarta seguro que le encanto, igual que el muñeco de nieve que te ha quedado genial

Hi Jane
ReplyDeleteI so totally understand. We had 50 degrees on Mon and Tues and woke up today to 6 inches of wet slushy snow. Grrrrr....
Happy Belated Birthday! Love the Tower idea.
Hugs to you,
Vicki
Not snow! Yuck! Happy birthday to you both! That cake is beautiful. Your projects look fun.
ReplyDeletehugs♥,
Caroline
Happy birthday to you both! The snowman is so cute, I haven't seen the movie Frozen, just a trailer, and I most say you did a wonderful job! I saw at once it was him, even do I hardly know him ;) We have an early spring over here, hope the "heat" gets to you too =)
ReplyDeleteHannah
Happy belated birthday to you and your daughter. The snowman is really cute. You chose well
ReplyDeletethe light house for a sorceress' tower. How wonderful to be able to teach little children to craft miniatures.
I wish you fun. I love your fairy garden.
Hugs, Drora
Happy very belated birthday Jane!! I'm sorry I wasn't around for that date!! I am a bit like you....I hate winter and I go in a kind of hibernation. I don't go out at all in winter, AT ALL until the spring comes out....at least here in Ireland where is much colder than Italy. Happy belated birthday to your beautiful daughter too...she is so lucky of having a mother like you....other than caring so creative!!! I would have loved to do crafts with my mother when I was a kid....but it wasn't the case!! :) I love those towers and I'm looking forward to see what transformation they will go through. I love paper clay....isn't a joy to sand???? Hugs great friend!!
