I am a terrible blog buddy: Seasons change

Good day fine folks!

I have been a terrible blog buddy these last couple of months but like a lot of us my summer has been macro life busy!

The season here has started to be on the verge of fall, each night and morning it feels a bit colder and the crickets are chirping away. I even saw a few yellow leaves about. My daughter will be starting 2nd grade this year and she of course grew out of every last stitch of clothing so shopping for everything has commenced!!

I have been working a bit behind the scenes on minis, mostly for Etsy since that is the only time I really have for it lately. When my little one goes back to school I will have more time to work on the miniatures build and other interesting projects ;)

For now here is a piece that this seasonal change has inspired

I have yet to send out my gift packages I have promised to a few folks..I did say I am a terrible blog buddy.. but I will be doing that this next week.  After that maybe we will have a mini-giveaway to reign in the fall season.

Hope all your mini builds are going well, hugs and well wishes to you all!
~J

  2. Good Morow Lady Jane! I hear you loud and clear and I think that there has been a general slow down throughout blog land this summer, so nothing to fret about. It is ALWAYS a treat to hear from you!
I remember the back to school clothes, books, paper supplies, and back-pack days, and what a relief to not have to think about that anymore. Both of my children are grown ups, and although my daughter is still in university, it doesn't require me running all over town to get the best deals on Back to School supplies, anymore. However, I do miss that time of her life, when she was in Grade 2! My how the time flies, cherish it Jane because it is gone in a flash!
Here in my part of Canada, the blisteringly hot days have turned cool and for the past 2 days we have had RAIN! Yipee! :D It is still mild but it is definitely worth having the blankets ON at night. Between the heat and my hot flashes, my body was perpetually drenched! :((
    Moving on:
I LOVE your autumn centerpiece Jane! It is Beautifully arranged and The Colors are Wonderful!!! I believe that you have captured the beauty of the season so well. And while we are on the subject of colors, I love the cakes that you made for Jennifer of Plushpussycat! The colors that you chose for Flossy and Sophie, couldn't have been more Perfect! (Those two eat better than anyone I know, and never gain an ounce, I wish I knew their secret! )
Anyway, I wish you and your family a wonderful "What's Left of Summer", Jane.
And you are NOT a "terrible blog buddy", you are a Great MOM and a Really Good Friend! :))

    1. Thank you as always fine lady for your kind and funny thoughts! The time does go by so fast with little folk in your household..it almost flashes kicks in the tummy..fist foods..walking and falling..fist day of school..now second grade and mathematics studies!

I do take in the time and cherish it i think it is very important to enjoy this time that we have as the school days are so short..homework, dinner. bed..a year older

I hope your summer goes well also, I will see you in the fall..er a few weeks ;)

  10. Come on, you're not a bad blog buddy... you've always visited the few of us who are still blogging... *grin* I absolutely agree with you, fall is near... it's amazing how early it begins to get dark now. And after having a very long heatwave I'm really in need of my sweater now in the evenings... sigh. My friend Melli from Pippibärenbande told me two days ago that it's only 19 weeks until Christmas *gulp*. And about your centerpiece - you know I've already admired it on Etsy, it's beautiful with wonderful, harmonic colours.

    Hugs

  11. I totally understand! It's okay to disappear from blogland; "real" life is more important, anyway! Make time for family and friends and living life. Love the fall inspired pieces you made so far. Just gorgeous! Makes me want to make a bunch of pumpkins for my mini porch! :)

  12. Another beautiful creation! :-) Fall is coming fast...& so the crafty feelings will return and hopefully more time for minis. You are in no way a bad blog buddy...you are one of the best blog buddies I have :() Real life takes over as it should and this summer has been a lazy blog time for many of us. In looking at your Etsy store, I am excited to see what you dream up for this fall....there are so many cool minis there already.
    Hugs,
    Lisa

  13. Beautiful centerpiece! Have fun with the return to class! Autumn is a good season and it will be good to see some cool weather. Real life sometimes takes all of our free time which is perfectly normal! I hope you'll have more free time for yourself once things settle :)

  15. Hello Jane,
You have been busy! I'm glad you at least got a little mini time to make the centerpiece. It is beautiful! I like summer, but my seasons really are the Spring and the Fall so I'm enjoying the cool morning and almost cold nights. Have fun getting ready for back to school.
    Big hug,

  16. There's all winter to be stuck inside. Summer is for enjoying. Although my lack of posts has also caused concern for my sweet blog friends. Glad to see I'm not the only one finding it hard to tear away from the sunny hot outdoors. Enjoy the rest of your summer with your daughter.
    hugs♥,

  17. I Love your centrepiece, not just because it is so beautifully put together but because it's a reminder that Halloween is on it's way! Oh, and I don't think anyone could ever think of you as a bad blog buddy, I know I couldn't. :)

  18. The summer have so much other fun things to give, so miniatures and bloging can easily be forgotten or as I did the last week, I chose to do other things. But Fall is a perfect season for miniatures I think =) You make such wonderful things for your Etsy shop!

  19. It´s nice to have you back in the blog world! I know what you mean. I got a girl (8) and two boys (15,16) ... (just the "big boy" is really mine, the other two come to me with my partner, but I love them as they are my own flesh and blood..) and all got summer vacations from school now. To this I´ve got a twelfe hour a day job and a house, housework and so there is sometimes not much time for things like blogging... I don´t think you´re a bad blog buddy just because you´ve got a real life too. A good friend (or buddy? sorry my bad English again) don´t have to be there always... but a good friend always come back ;-)
    Hugs
    Melli
