The Log Mansion: Delivered and done!

Hello fine folk of the far and wide!

I have had quite a busy busy two weeks, I am just getting time to catch up on blog reading and finish this post before I have to complete a last project..then.WHEW..rest!

The log Manson was delivered over the weekend. My customer is now busy with decorating her new house and as youve seen she has a lot of space to fill up. I attended a miniature fair and grabbed some supplies for new projects.

I am just going to post a few photos I've grabbed from the camera, some are as I was working still.. in a week or so I will put a tab at the top with all the shots/closeu ps once I get to sorting.

For now here are some final shots to ogle, I hope your all being crafty!!

As usual, if you have any questions or requests let me know in the comments!

Will be back after a short rest with some tutorials on stonework, molds and stamps!
Hugs!!! J

  4. Hello Jane! Your finished log cabin is Really Lovely! You have given the house a down-home semi-rustic flavor which will allow much scope for imaginative interior decoration. I love the look of the stone fireplace in the open floor plan, as well as the knotty wood trims you have incorporated around the lower floor rooms AND I am also enjoying the back staircase! What a Clever Idea!
    Wonderfully Done, Jane!!! :D

  5. The cabin looks picturesque! It's such a beautiful piece! I love the overall look of the exterior, especially the colours you picked. The roof grey and the stone grey really standout against the stain! It looks great! Congratulations on finishing! I have to ask was it hard to part with in the end? I wouldn't have wanted to let it go ;)

I have no doubt your customer is over the moon with it... and who knows... maybe she will send you photos when she's done for sharing with us... would be great. Enjoy the sweet relief of a successful finished commission... and btw I'm glad that you were only busy and otherwise fine... I missed you! ;O)

  17. When I first read "log mansion", I thought that was a bit of a contradiction. I can definitely see why it's a mansion though! That spiral staircase is so grand! Love the little mini room off to the left too. Whoever gets this dollhouse is a lucky person!

  21. Cool!
I´m making my first doll house, but it´s just a matter of putting together the pieces, not actually making everything myself. But it´s a lot of fun, even if it´s really difficult to get all the details right. It´s going to become a fairy hotel, and I could definitely imagine making more of them, until I have a small city.
