Felted Bunny: my first punch project

Eve'nin

I just wanted to procrastinate a bit and show you a couple of pictures of my first needle punched bunny, I took a class last night at the library and am now a needle felting addict!!!

I still have to work on him but as a start he's getting there ;P

He's not a mini bunny but I did not want to go crazy on my first try, so he's a "small" bunny I thought my daughter would like ;)

But I can see the mini applications to come:

You can see I worked a bit more on punch shaping his form..clay mind

I even did some underfur lighter thinking a belly

His face is simple, *shaddup*.. hes cute though ;P

Alrighty Jane...stop damn stalling and get back to work ;)

  3. awwww,he is adorable!! I love needle felting-there is something soooo relaxing about it to me. I did a small panda bear once for a miniature rocking horse/panda for a dollhouse nursery and my little bit of advice if working in mini size----be VERY aware of your fingers :) Don't ask me how I know to give that advice-lol. I look forward to seeing more!

  8. Cute bunny. I look forward to seeing your mini attempts in the future. I often see such gorgeous little animals in needle felting and I'm tempted to have a go myself at some stage. Another thing on my 'must try some day list'.

  9. Cute bunny, Jane. Way to go (high five!). My first needle felting project was a gnome in a class, then I made Flossy and Sophie. That was it. But hopefully there'll be more mini friends for Flossy and Sophie in the future! :-) I look forward to seeing more of your mini needle felted creations. xo Jennifer

  10. BUNNY!!! Oh what a great class, i will second i wish they offered classes like this locally too. Great job and congrats on not coming home with bandaids on all your fingers! I love what people are doing in the felting world like Jennifer. I have a few minis on etsy bookmarked for future wants. ;-) Did I ever tell you about my mom and her love of wool and mine? She has been known to buy an entire sheep or other wooly creature. And no not yarn but she goes to places and comes home with the a bag (cough or more) of the entire sheared sheep hair. Then in some format I know I will get in the wrong order washes, combs and dies it. Also yes she even has a spinning wheel and spins it to yarn. I even have some she dyed for me and a teeny tiny drop spindle to make my own mini yarn.

    1. You my dear have a amazing crafting family! Potters, spinners, fine mini aficionados..

I would love to watch that process of making wool, that in itself is a amazing art.

      A fine family miss ;)

  14. Your bunny is adorable. I just ordered a couple of books and a few needle felting supplies myself, I was planning a bunny as my first project. I hope that mine comes out as nice as yours.

I got your email, I've had a few issues with my computer/internet/email. I'll email as soon as I can.

  16. Hi Jane! Good work! How difficult was it? I have thought about trying it one day but I don't think that I have enough knowledge of animal anatomy or otherwise to want to tackle it right now. Yours turned out not too badly for a first try! How was the class?

    1. Hey Elizabeth, its super easy..the miniatures might be a task but the mid sized is wonderful. The class was just the basics but I have mastered a bit more of my own technique;P

Maybe I will post the bunny and the snail I did in the next post..they look much better ;P
